Interesting read :)

Do believe that other iPods had the 'read the menu out loud' option built in, it was just a matter of turning the feature on. So what has changed with the new iPod shuffle? Well not much! Buttons that were on the iPod are now on a cord, and it was given a feature that was available on other iPods.

And do we really want a phone without an interface? Unless we can operate the menu through 'voice activation', how are we suppose to access all the different options an iPhone offers?

Anyways,
Cheers!

Hey Michael. Great post! I like the way you analyse and bring things up here. It's very interesting for us to read about how different people react on the video and what impression they get of Fi.

Being a designer at Fi is of course not only about applying a certain style to a project given to you from someone that have set the direction and the concept. But If a designer prefer that, were totally open for it. Were always trying to push our designers to be as involved as possible already after the first meeting with the client to the last interactive QA period. I think it's about how passionate you are about the project and how much ownership you feel.

It might not come across in the video that we want designers to solve the clients problems not only by making the problem beautiful but also solve it either by him/her selves or together with a bunch of other people before putting the make up on. Sometimes you solve many problems during the design process. Think that happens a lot. Depends on how you prefer to work I guess.

As I mentioned before I think the most important thing (at least for me) is ownership. By that I mean that a designer could take Art directions as well as Creative directions. It's very open and flexible. As long as the end result satisfy the client and it's target audience I guess everyone's happy. But how you got to that I believe is rule-less.

Thanks again.
You blog is very appreciated!
